Hollywood’s home in Rome is
the Hotel Eden. Since its
reopening in 1994 everyone
from Tom Cruise to Gwynth
Paltrow has stayed at this
glamorous Grande Dame.
Situated a short walk from
the top of the Spanish
Steps, the hotel exudes
old-fashioned charm and
elegance while keeping apace
with contemporary luxuries.
The Empire style rooms come
in a variety of sizes with
luxurious marble bathrooms
complete with fluffy
bathrobes, slippers and
Hermes bath products. Rooms
on the fourth and fifth
floors are preferable due to
the spectacular views, also
shared by the award-winning
restaurant - you’ll be hard
pushed to find somewhere
better to sip your morning
cappuccino, the magnificent
dome of St Peters looming in
the distance.
Although it is a big hotel
the Eden achieves something
important, an intimate
atmosphere. The fire in the
lobby, which resembles an
English drawing room, is
always lit in the winter
months and the thoughtful
staff and know-it-all
concierges display typical
Italian charm. |
